OUR STORY

RIVAS Interior Design is a family story. In 1978, Tony Rivas founded Agence Tony Rivas in Paris, establishing a rigorous approach to interior design rooted in meticulous craftsmanship, the mastery of light, and an uncompromising attention to detail.

The practice spans three territories, private residences, hotels, and restaurants. Each demands the same rigour. Spaces are conceived in their entirety, where light, material, and proportion serve a single intention. Nothing is decorative for its own sake, everything is calibrated to how the space will be lived in.

That level of execution requires craftsmen who are increasingly rare, decorative painters, plasterers, and master cabinetmakers. The house has partnered with them in Paris for forty-eight years, culminating most recently in Maison Bauchart, a five-star Parisian property conceived to palace standards.

Now, Michael Rivas brings this legacy to New York. Having grown up inside the practice, he inherited more than a firm, he inherited a way of seeing. New York is a deliberate choice, a city with a profound appetite for quality, yet where craftsmen of this calibre are nearly impossible to find.
